Looks like the issue might be with the UNTOUCHABLE_ARCHIVE_FILE_COUNT check. Right now the implementation in TimeBasedArchiveRemover.capTotalSize() is ensuring to preserve 2 days (this is dependent on the periodicity determined from the filename pattern) for the above attached logback.xml. @ceki
