Hello, I have reproduced this bug and didn't found any reference in the documentation that state that this behavior is normal or expected.
At first I thought it was a Lilith bug, but comparing against ch.qos.logback.classic.net.SimpleSocketServer I got the same results.
I have attached a sample Maven project to reproduce it sockappender.tar.gz, instructions to reproduce the bug are in the README.txt file inside.
Just in case, I found this open question in StackOverflow that reports the same behavior.
