Perhaps what truly needs to be done (by the user) is to reset the LoggerContext just before the application dies, after nothing else is being executed.
But that's just my assumption of the actual problem, since not much info is being provided here.

Depending on usage, any fixes Logback may leave the LoggerContext in a questionable state
