Moreover, in the context of the abbreviation algorithm, 36 carries no special meaning, nor does any positive integer. only 0 is special because it means "abbreviate to the right of the rightmost dot. For logger named after classes, this means abbreviate to the class name, removing the package part. Anyway, I am afraid I still don't see what is the bug that needs to be corrected.
