However, while the logback jars are available from maven's central repository (repo1.maven.org/maven2), they are not available on at least one mirror (http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/maven2). If you still experience downloading problems, try to access directly the central repo instead of a mirror. I've run through the steps again with an empty local repository and it worked fine, so I'm setting this bug as fixed.
