I see that in issue https://jira.qos.ch/browse/LOGBACK-81 you increased from 2 to 3 ... which is a quick fix ... someone had subjested to increase from 2 to 9. Why not just match a decimal without a restricted number of digit ? And if this is not possible lets at least increase it to 9.
