
In revision 1925, I modified several test to use random ports for tests to reduce the probability in LINGERING ports between successive runs This should prevent SyslogAppenderTest from failing. Ceki Gulcu wrote:

The SyslogAppenderTest uses a fixed port. Probably the second time you ran the test the port was in the "LINGERING" state from the previous run. I'll modify the test to use a random port so that the problem does not reoccur.
