| I'd like to add that the documentation is still bit confusing https://logback.qos.ch/manual/configuration.html as it still references xml and .groovy configuration "Logback can be configured either programmatically or with a configuration script expressed in XML or Groovy format." If Groovy was eliminated, perhaps all Groovy references should be eliminated from the documentation as well? Regarding: "Given that Groovy is a full-fledged language, we have dropped support for logback.groovy in order to protect the innocent." Although xml was very popular 15 years ago, I would argue most people would find it easier to understand groovy over the extreme verboseness of xml. Considering the popularity of gradle, if a java developer hasn't had some exposure to Groovy by now, they should probably considering updating their Java from 1.7 and consider eliminating Adobe Flash Player from their operating system  |
