I have a legacy enterprise monitoring system that does scrapping some files for patterns matching and do producing reports to the UI. And also I have a continuous integration server that does building each 10 minutes of some project that does checking of the live systems for their availability and health. When some test fails the message appears in the log file. I'm extremely needed to see reports on these messages with smallest latency. Having an underlying OS buffer I can get an error message for example in an hour later when some other messages will be written. That's not acceptable for my project.
