I've just seen this issue (it seems tracked both here and on GitHub).

As some people seem to ask for a backport of the patch for the 1.2.x branch, I've been able to test the latest update I've made to PR 305 by cherry-picking it onto the 1.2.6 branch. (I haven't actually tested it against the 1.3.x branch, mainly due to lack of time to set up the required build environment, although I'd expect it to work in the same way.)

Feedback and further test results welcome on either branches.
