Hi Johann,
you are right, i tested your solution and it worked fine.
Unfortunatly at the moment, im restricted to slf4j 1.6.4 and logback 1.0.0 and these versions do not allow to set the timeout for appenders. The default is 30 mins.
I actually need to close it immediatly after the "Finalize marker", so our previous solution still comes in handy.
