I am interested in using this for support with Loggly. If this is something that is potentially slated for an extension, then the core code needs to have the appropriate extension points added.
I took the liberty of creating a PR with the single extension point to the core code. If this is accepted, the TLSSyslogAppender can be easily added into the extensions project if that is the desire of the maintainers.
