Although it is true that logback might need a BOM, that is not what I need since we don't use logback.

The one reason we use slf4j is independence from implementation.

I would really like to see a BOM for slf4j-artifacts only, since there are now quite a few of them with all the bridges to and from slf4j you provide.

You could import that BOM in your logback BOM should you choose to have one.

Please consider my request and move this back to slf4j for I guess there must be many who would benefit from this solution even if there is not much upvoting going on here.
