@Ceki I created a PR( https://github.com/qos-ch/logback/pull/321) with a simple fix for this issue.
Looks like you fixed this issue by removing the UNTOUCHABLE_ARCHIVE_FILE_COUNT check altogether.
Should I go ahead and close the above PR?
