I agree that this is boilerplate configuration and should work. The log files are not large and no other process are accessing the file. As I said in JIRA, we monitored the rollover at midnight and it worked like a charm – new logs were going into teamwork.log and teamwork.log.2012-08-15 was created. But when we checked this morning, teamwork.log contained a single entry from 06:45 and teamwork.log.2012-08-15 has logs from midnight onwards.

The same basic configuration works with log4j. We have been switching back and forth between logback and log4j as we debug this issue; if this issue is resolved we will stick with logback.
