There are several conditions, where I do not get an error message at all, e.g. - if a logger is referring to an appender that is not defined in the logback.xml - if the FileAppender or RollingFileAppender is not able to write a file, either caused by wrong permissions or non existence of the target directory - if the server port is already used by another application This makes debugging of the configuration file really time consuming.
