janino error upgrading to 0.9.29

We are using logback-classic and logback-core in a tomcat 6.0.32 application. Our logback.xml contains an if condition, so our application classpath includes the following files: janino.jar logback-classic-0.9.29.jar logback-core-0.9.29.jar When we try logback 0.9.29, logback is suddenly unable to find the janino file. Tomcat reports the following error: ERROR in ch.qos.logback.core.joran.conditional.IfAction - Could not find Janino library on the class path. Skipping conditional processing. The problem disappears when we put the logback 0.9.28 files back in place. Is there something new we need to do in .29? Thanks for your help. /mcr

FileAppender and flushing

In a very simple intro-style prototype using logback, I've got a rolling file appender logging correctly to a file. However, I don't see the log lines immediately; however, they do show up when I close my java app. This means things are getting buffered. But I can't find something like Logger.flush() or any flush method as a work my way back up the inheritance tree. How do I ensure immediate flushing? Thanks.

I use the following configuration: <turboFilter class="ch.qos.logback.classic.turbo.MarkerFilter"> <Marker>CLIENT_WIDGET_TABLE_PERFORMANCE</Marker> <Marker>CLIENT_PERFORMANCE</Marker> <OnMatch>ACCEPT</OnMatch> <OnMismatch>DENY</OnMismatch> </turboFilter> Unfortunately only last marker (CLIENT_PERFORMANCE) takes into account. Is it possible to use several markers at the same time? use of java.io.File in logback / Android

I am about to implement an appender that I can use on Android. I'm guessing it won't be much more difficult than doing the same from log4j. The primary problem is that we can't really use java.io.File to access the file system. Android has its own File access API. I believe that this will be as simple as extending RollingFileAppender and overriding methods as needed to swap out the File access apis. Can anybody spot the flaw in my thinking? Are there other pitfalls I need to worry about? The way I got around it with my filter was to create another class with a static method that the filter called. The other class had a logger instantiated and took care of the logging for the filter. If you instantiate a logger in a filter class you'll have the same problem. The message is telling you that you can't use a logger in part of Logback's init. Hello, I just made an API abstraction above logback in order to add specific functions in this api i have all logback functions (juste overrided with no changes) and add some other functions (with specific signature) : I created then a file appender and a JMS appender in logback.xml (nothing special) I am using activemq for jms MOM. The problem is then : when a run a test class with some methodes invocation i see this message : SLF4J: The following loggers will not work becasue they were created SLF4J: during the default configuration phase of the underlying logging system.
