Karen, Your post didn't make it onto the mailing list, as you are not subscribed. It only made it into nabble. Try setting this system property: -Dlogback.statusListenerClass=ch.qos.logback.core.status.OnConsoleStatusListener Then logback should print out any problems it had rolling the files. Windows won't let a file be renamed if it is open. Perhaps something has the file open? What version of logback are you using?
