[logback-user] Transport protocol for SMTPAppender

Hi, is it possible to define what protocol (mail.transport.protocol) to use with SMTPAppender other than through System properties which are global? Logging important info which must be sent by mail must be part of my tests and for that purpose, I've made a MockTransport that I would like to use.
