An stubbed appender named "TelnetAppender" was added in 0.9.8 and subsequently removed in 0.9.19 (never having been fully implemented).

There are no plans to revive that effort, but this could be added to logback-extensions (via a pull request :-) ), especially since it shouldn't be too difficult to port a log4j appender to logback.
