I had the same problem and I think I know why J Solaris does interrupt IO blocked thread which then causes the OutputStreamAppender to catch the IOException in line 218 (version 0.9.24). I actually run version 0.9.18 but this part has not change so I guess it will behave the same way. Websphere specific JMX configuration?

How can we enable JMX for logback in WebSphere ? Class not found exception for LoggingEventVO

I have an application client set up to send a logging message over a bus using a logback JMSQueueAppender. Logback version is 0.9.24 and slf4j version is 1.6.1. This is running on a Websphere 7.0 server in Rational Application Developer 7.5. I've tested the bus and queue with a simple text message using the RAD Universal Test Client and that works fine, so at least the foundation is solid. use of java.io.File in logback / Android

I am about to implement an appender that I can use on Android. I'm guessing it won't be much more difficult than doing the same from log4j. The primary problem is that we can't really use java.io.File to access the file system. Android has its own File access API. I believe that this will be as simple as extending RollingFileAppender and overriding methods as needed to swap out the File access apis. Can anybody spot the flaw in my thinking? Are there other pitfalls I need to worry about? using logback in an API w/o impacting other applications

Hi all, In an API I had to write for a client to interface with an COTS application, I used log4j to bridge to the COTS application's log capability. To totally isolate the usage of log4j in the API I created a wrapper around a Logger with its own Hierarchy. JDK14Appender for logback: Anybody written one?

Hi. I have a situation where I have a Java EE 6 web profile application which currently means that it needs to run in Glassfish 3.0.1. The appropriate way to log under Glassfish 3.0.1 is using java.util.logging which works well with slfj4-jdk14-whatever but where the _configuration_ of the logging system inside Glassfish sucks in new and exciting ways, which I have decided not to use. Hence I have figured out that what would work fine for us would be to embed logback in our application, use our usual logback configuration files which filter out those things we dont need anyway, and then let logback just end up dumping the log statements actually to be logged to java.util.logging. In other words, I need a JDK14Appender for logback. Has anyone written such a beast? It is not part of the standard logback distribution L Thanks /Thorbjørn

TurboFilter thread-safety?

Hi all, I would like to known if TurboFilter is multithread-safe or not since the manual does not say anything about it. Reviewing https://github.com/ceki/logback/blob/master/logback-classic/src/main/java/c… have seen that a it makes use of a LinkedHashMap ( http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/LinkedHashMap.html) which requires synchronization in case of multithread access. Namasthe, I have switched from log4j to logback. For configuration, I initially worked with logback.xml which worked fine. I wanted to get rid of xml so re-wrote the logback.xml in groovy.
