Hello all, Logback includes retro-weaver generated jars for JDK 1.4. However, there seems to be little interest in these JDK 1.4 jars. Calling retro-weaver increases logback's build time by a few seconds -- seconds in which we can do more productive things. So, is there any interest in the JDK 1.4 build of logback? If not, I intend to remove JDK 1.4 support in logback for the next release. Cheers, -- Ceki Gülcü Logback: The reliable, generic, fast and flexible logging framework for Java. http://logback.qos.ch

Speaking only for me, you can remove the JDK 1.4 support. But if it's only a matter of seconds when cutting a release, I think you should better keep it... Xavier Cheers,

I currently don't use them either. As long as I could build them if I do need them (it is likely there will be a day when I do need it). On 9/6/07, Xavier Hanin <xavier.hanin@gmail.com> wrote:

I just discovered logback today! I am excited about what I have seen so far and hope to be able to replace log4j 1.2.x with LOGBack in our product. However, I will most definitely need continued support for jdk 1.4, so please keep providing the jdk 1.4 builds. Thanks, Tom Leccese Ceki Gulcu-2 wrote:

Hi Tom, Thank you for your comments. Have you actually tried the jdk 1.4 build? Tom Leccese wrote:

No, I haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet. Has anyone else tried out the jdk 1.4 build? Ceki Gulcu wrote:

I am not going to be free of 1.4 until first or second quarter of next year here but I think if it's a pain for you to support I certainly can continue using the current version until then. Or use retroweaver myself...I hadn't heard of that! :) -- Jeremiah

Hello Jeremiah, Given that several users showed interest in JDK 1.4, we will continue its support. I would be interesed to know if there are developers who use the retroweaved version of logback on a day-to-day basis. Jeremiah Voris wrote:
