This has significant performance implications as every log statement is processedby J.U.L. so it can then be forwarded to SLF4J. This is how application servers are able to implement their own logging system using the J.U.L. API without performance penalty. SLF4S moving to SLF4J

Ceki, I just made the first step in moving SLF4S to SLF4J: In my fork of the SLF4J repo I added the slf4j-scala-api module and contributed all SLF4S code (except for one stupid implicit conversion). The OSGi stuff is still missing, but that's not too much. How are we going to proceed? I think as the author of the Scala stuff I should be given "write access" to the SLF4J repo, because the Scala stuff must be maintained and developed further. Ceki, you already received the signed contributor agreement. What do you think? Hi Ceki, I'm just about ready to announce that sysout-over-slf4j is publicly available. I feel that a separate mailing list is overkill for such a small module; would it be acceptable to reference the SLF4J user and dev mailing list in the sysout-over-slf4j pom and site? I'd rather support it here. If you feel it is inappropriate for a 3rd party library to be doing this naturally I fully understand. Thanks for your thoughts. Rob
